ILGA + RIWI: Attitudes towards marriage equality in 51 countries

On May 13, 2015, the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association (ILGA) released their report for the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia that RIWI provided the data for. Eric Meerkamper, President of RIWI Corp., spoke about the power of the Random Domain Intercept Technology (RDIT) and it’s benefits for a sensitive topic such as same-sex marriage. RDIT is able to survey people from all across the world, and in this survey we reached 51,700 people from 51 countries. Through this technology we can keep respondents anonymity, while still gathering crucial data. Many of the findings of the survey were surprising, while others were confirming of what is already known. These results can be found in the final report released by ILGA. We look forward to gathering more data on this topic to drive further social change and understanding, as well as to track attitudes over time.
