RIWI data on the topic of income inequality were featured as a topic of the World Bank’s Development Impact blog series on the job market, published December 4th, 2018 by Christopher Hoy of the Australian National University. This particular study was conducted in partnership with Oxfam, and the data were used for the annual Oxfam report presented at the World Economic Forum.
RIWI used randomized control trials (RCTs) and two separate information interventions on its proprietary survey technology platform and randomly engaged over 3,000 respondents in each of 8 developed and developing countries. The randomness of the respondent and allocation to a treatment group were crucial for this study, as Hoy discusses in the article.
