Digital Audience Engagement
RIWI provides digital audience engagement services to increase programmatic and educational impact with access to the entire global internet population. RIWI is able to scale your impact by engaging new untapped and hard-to-reach online populations, rapidly directing people to land on approved websites, educational platforms and other digital initiatives. We enable organizations to deliver any web page daily to thousands of users in any geography of the world, with the potential to reach millions over a few weeks.
How It Works
RIWI engages and directs digital audiences to approved websites and online materials by geo-targeting respondents automatically using their truncated IP address to confirm they are in the country or region of interest. IP addresses in combination with device User Agent (the combination of device type, internet browser, operating system, and other device details) are automatically hashed to create a unique non-personally identifiable unique user code. Through this code, RIWI ensures that each digital audience member is unique and accessible across all web-enabled devices.
Random Web user lands on an otherwise inactive domain
RIWI validates area of interest and delivers appropriate redirect
Non-incentivized users land on a resource and are free to explore at their own pace
Metadata and other non-identifiable statistics can be provided directly to client
The RIWI Advantage
As opposed to other online audience engagement options such as social media advertising, content on our platform is not subject to inequitable content policies, especially in repressive regimes or non-permissive media environments. This enables organizations to safely promote and distribute materials promoting good governance, human rights and other pressing issues that are otherwise censored or restricted. RIWI can also provide device, operating system, and other anonymous metadata to clients to gain additional insight into the types of web-users visiting their materials.
Examples of Our Impact
In collaboration with the Initiative for Media Freedom, Internews commissioned RIWI to conduct a message test and large-scale audience engagement campaign in the Philippines to strengthen the evidence-based approach around countering mis- and disinformation in the country. RIWI used its digital audiences tool to enhance digital engagement and amplify the reach of local media campaigns by exposing approximately 500,000 people in the Philippines to independent media outlets, online campaigns, content marketing and educational platforms at scale.
The East-West Management Institute (EWMI) partnered with RIWI to conduct a series of data collection and online citizen engagement activities, as part of their wider USAID-funded Civil Society Strengthening Program in Cambodia. The survey findings were used by a local consortium partner to design a series of messaging campaigns to inform citizens about the primary consumer safety misnomers. With the information gathered from the message testing, EWMI and their local partner developed an online educational platform that included key information about consumer rights and safety in Cambodia. RIWI sent more than 200,000 internet users from Cambodia to this educational platform and significantly increased project reach.
