We are looking for an experienced sales leader to join our International Development (ID) line of business. Reporting to the VP & General Manager of ID, this position will have sales responsibility over a portfolio of customers within ID and drive sales across ID sectors. RIWI’s ID sectors include International Aid, Governance and Democracy, Environment, Global Health, Human Rights, Economic Development, and Peace and Conflict. The job title for this position (Director or VP) will be determined according to the candidate’s years of sales experience and demonstrated record of sales success.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced, highly motivated, sales-focused individual with 7-10 years of sales experience who has walked in the shoes of our customers, worked internationally, and has an established track record of building businesses based on research and/or data services in ID. This person will have a passion for growing RIWI’s business across the globe including the sales of: sentiment and survey data, message testing, social listening, and monitoring data solutions. The position will work closely with the VP/GM on sales strategy, product strategy, marketing, and key account management. The position will have a sales quota for RIWI’s current customers and prospects, as well as prospects based on the candidate’s network and past customer base. The ideal candidate must be highly networked with the ability to immediately leverage connections and sales relationships for sales success.

Responsibilities:
- Accountability for a portfolio of business within RIWI’s ID line of business and meeting the sales quota set by the VP/GM. The portfolio will be determined according to the candidate’s past sales relationships and network of customers, in order to best position the candidate for early and continued sales success in the first year.
- Work with the VP/GM to identify the right products and services in the market that generate high-margin recurring revenue.
- Work with the VP/GM to develop go-to-market and expansion strategies that enable RIWI to grow with our target customers.
- Identify and oversee strategic partner relationships for your portfolio within ID and manage existing client relationships to grow business over time.
- Contribute to marketing strategy, execution, and promotion of RIWI’s products and services for the ID community.
- Responsible for deal identification, design, negotiation, and contractual stewardship.
- Attend appropriate events to generate leads and build relationships, such as conferences, webinars, seminars, networking events and industry events.
- Other duties as assigned, including the opportunity to recruit, manage, and mentor new sales staff as the ID team meets revenue targets and expands.
Qualifications and Required Skills:
- University degree with a minimum 7-10 years of sales experience
- Well connected in the International Development community with connections and sales relationships across various government-funded agencies, foundations, the University sector, the global non-profit sector, and implementation partners to government aid organizations
- Must be conversant in global political issues, ID trends, and/or humanitarian issues
- Experience selling data and insights for improved decision making including data collection and analysis, message testing, and citizen-enabled behavioral insights
- Experience and reach into global markets, and diverse buyers in different geographies
- Strong track record of selling to amazing international clients with a relentless focus on generating leads and building long-term business relationships
- Experience selling globally with a proven ability to sell to and build relationships with business development teams and buyers
- Demonstrated success and experience developing proposals and responding to open-competition funding opportunities from funding organizations such as USAID, the United Nations, World Bank, FCDO, the EU, etc.
- Demonstrable excellence in written and verbal communications
- Contribute to a positive team atmosphere and company culture
- Excellent interpersonal, client management skills, and organization skills with the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently and operate in a fast-paced work environment
- Second language skills are not mandatory but definitely favored
- Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Able to prioritize and deliver both short-term and long-term projects in a fast-paced environment
- Results-oriented mindset and a willingness to be hands-on with a high attention to detail
- Commitment to work flexible hours and travel as required to support sales and business development activities

Total compensation for this position is $120,000 to $240,000 and will be based on experience, education, and workplace location. Total compensation will be 50% base salary and 50% target-based and commission-based compensation.
