World Bank Institute & RIWI’s Extractive Industries Results Unveiled at CIIEID

Earlier this month, RIWI’s CTO Alton Ing had the opportunity to share data collected in partnership with the World Bank Institute on public perceptions of extractive industries in 14 mineral rich countries. The data were presented at the Canadian International Resources and Development Institute (CIRDI), formerly known as the Canadian International Institute for Extractive Industries and Development (CIIEID), as part of the Responsible Minerals Sector Initiative’s GEMM Dialogues at Simon Fraser University.
The purpose of the study was to improve governance in the oil, gas, and mining sectors in developing countries, particularly through active citizen engagement. Over 16,000 complete responses were captured in a month using RDIT™ methodology.
