As part of The MasterCard Foundation’s 2014 Youth Optimism study, RIWI conducted an online survey in 14 Sub-Saharan African countries with almost 10,000 respondents. The questions were geared towards the perspectives youth between the ages 15 and 24 had on their economic, personal and educational futures, as well as the prospects for their respective communities. The survey aimed to uncover challenges posed to African youth, and their perceptions towards their future.
This data was used as part of a larger study conducted by The MasterCard Foundation, to explore where African youth envision themselves and their communities in the next 5 to 10 years.
